Evaluation.
e.g. for the geek we used bright colours. Green and blue these colours signify fun and bright colours. Also the colour blue can signify worry where this suggests are geek is worried about fitting in.
for the chavs we used the colours black and grey these colours signify dull and horror. We did this so it suggests people will be scared of them and have fear over them. We dressed the chavs in trackies and drugs and the geek wore glasses we did this because this is out stereotype of chavs and geeks.
The original location that we intended to film at was Guilsbouorgh School, this was because teenagers spend most of their time in school and socialize with friends and we could record a good clip of how they act in school and are with there friends. We changed location because it was convenient and it fitted the criteria of our video on teenage rebellion.
We used different colours in order to show the contrast between characters. The colours black and gray were used to dress the chav and the colours bright blue and bright green were used to dress the geek. The reasons why we chose these colours was because gray symbolizes dullness and black symbolizes horror and fear this is reflected on their bad attitude and dark mood. All the chavs wore the same clothing which reflected their stereotype. The geek wears mismatched clothing which shows she is not fashion conscience and is a social outcast but throughout the film you see her give into peer pressure.
Good parts of the video were the filming was not time consuming, and this was very helpful as it meant we could spend more time on the editing and adding effects. I think this improved our video and helped us achieve more.
Parts that we could of improved on, was delegation and decisions. We over came this by cooperation and took turns to film and put ideas out. Next time around I would put more effort into planning and preparation to help our decisions. If I were to redo the video I would write a list of all the shots and angles needed to be used in our filming and tick off when we added them into our film. I would do this to add more effect into our film.
I recorded the high angle shot of when Lauren (geek) was attempting to take the drugs I zoomed into to draw more effect. Also I filmed the pan shot of the characters in bed, I had to re-record this shot a few times before it was steady enough, also the 180` shot draw more effect and movement.
Throughout this project I developed new technical skills and the ability to work within a group. Next time round I know what to do and the preparation I need to use to help me.
camara angles.
We used a range of different camara angle to portray different effects and charaters through our filming.
Angles we used:
Low angle- We used a low angle which looked up at them dancing to make them appear big and powerful also we put in a slow motion when we were filming on the geek, we did this because we wanted her to stand out more and seem different from everybody anyone eles. Due to our filming been about per-pressure it made the geek appear under threat, and by by filming the chavs from low angle it made them appear to have importance and status, we did this to show that in teenagers chavs have more power over other teenagers because of the way the act and scare others.
High angle- We filmed a high shot to show how vunrable the geek was and how the chavs had power over her, also this shot made her appear weak and small. This showed the audience her lack of importance.
Over the shoulder- We opened our film with a 'over the shoulder shot' this was ment to get the audience caputured with the film straight away. We filmed the over the shoulder shot into her mirrow so you could also see her emotion and happiness in the mirrow. We zoomed into the mirrow to shoe the charaters facial expressions and emotion.
Close up- we used quite a few close ups through film. We did this to show intense emotion, mostly filming a close up on the geek, to show her emotion. By this it showed the effect we wanted to capture.
